How to Download a TikTok Slideshow (Photos and Audio)

To download a TikTok slideshow, open it in the TikTok app, tap Share and choose Save video. TikTok turns the photos and the sound into one video and saves it to your phone. For the individual pictures, use the save or download option on each photo where the app offers it, or save the images from tiktok.com on a computer.

All of that depends on the creator allowing downloads. If they switched downloads off, the save options disappear. This guide covers each method, how to get the audio on its own, and an honest note about what web downloaders can do with slideshows.

What a TikTok slideshow actually is

A slideshow, which TikTok calls a photo post or photo mode, is not stored as a video. It is a list of still images plus a separate sound. The app displays the photos one after another and plays the sound over the top. You can swipe through the pictures at your own pace, which a video would not let you do.

That matters because most TikTok downloaders, ours included, are built to fetch a video file. There is no video file behind a slideshow for them to fetch. When TikTok offers Save video on a photo post, it is building a new video on your phone out of the photos and the sound.

Method 1: Save the slideshow as a video in the app

1. Open the slideshow in the TikTok app.
2. Tap the Share arrow on the right side of the screen.
3. In the bottom row, tap Save video. On some versions the option is called Download.
4. Wait while TikTok builds the video. It lands in your Photos app or gallery.

The result plays each photo for a few seconds with the sound underneath. It usually carries TikTok's watermark with the creator's username, the same as any video saved from the app. If you want to know why that watermark cannot simply be removed afterwards, our piece on TikTok watermark removal explains it.

Method 2: Save the individual photos

Often you want a specific picture rather than the whole slideshow, such as a recipe card, a screenshot of advice or a single photo. How you get it depends on your device.

In the TikTok app

Newer versions of the app offer a way to save photos from a photo post, either in the share menu next to Save video or by pressing and holding on the image. The exact wording moves around between updates, so look for Save photo, Download or Save images. If you only see Save video, your version does not offer single photos.

On a computer

1. Open the slideshow on tiktok.com in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
2. Use the arrows to move to the photo you want.
3. Right-click the image and choose Save image as. In most browsers this saves the photo at the size TikTok serves it.

Screenshot as a last resort

A screenshot works on any device and does not depend on the creator's settings. It captures the photo at your screen's resolution with the app's buttons around it, so crop it afterwards. For personal reference, that is often all you need.

Method 3: Get only the audio

Sometimes the sound is the point. The trick is that the audio in a slideshow nearly always came from somewhere else, and that somewhere is often a normal video you can download.

1. Tap the spinning record or the sound name at the bottom of the slideshow. This opens the sound's page.
2. If the sound is named original sound followed by a username, the page shows the video it was first posted with, usually at the top.
3. Open that original video, tap Share and Copy link.
4. Paste the link into our TikTok to MP3 converter and save the audio as MP3 or M4A.

If the sound page shows a song title and artist instead, it is a licensed track from TikTok's music library. You will get better quality, and the full song, from a music service than from any TikTok clip. The TikTok to MP3 page is the right tool when the sound is a voice, a clip or an original recording that only exists on TikTok.

Method 4: Screen record it

When downloads are off and you want a personal copy of the slideshow as it plays, screen recording captures the photos, the transitions and the sound together. On iPhone use Screen Recording in Control Center. On Android, use Screen record in Quick Settings and choose to record media sound. The quality is lower than the original photos, and the result is for your own use rather than reposting.

What web downloaders can and cannot do

Plenty of sites advertise TikTok slideshow downloads. Some work some of the time, and many stop working whenever TikTok changes how photo posts are served. We tested our own TikTok downloader against slideshow links in September 2026, and it cannot save them: links with /photo/ in them are not recognised by the extraction engine we use, and the photos are not exposed as a video it can read.

We would rather tell you that than send you round in circles. For normal TikTok videos the downloader works well, including saving without the watermark where TikTok stores a clean copy. For slideshows, the in-app Save video option and the sound trick above are the dependable routes.

A note on credit

Slideshows are often somebody's photography, artwork or carefully written tips. Saving them for yourself is fine. Reposting them without credit is the fastest way to get a copyright report, and it is also just unfair to the person who made them. Tag the creator, or better, share the original post.
