Purpose of this site
GrabVid is provided for personal, educational and archival use. The written guides exist to explain how video is stored and served on social platforms, and the tool exists so you can save content you have the right to save. Nothing here is designed to help anyone take another person's work and pass it off as their own.
No affiliation with any platform
GrabVid is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to X Corp, Meta Platforms, Instagram, Google, YouTube, ByteDance, TikTok or Facebook in any way. We use those names descriptively, to tell you which services the tool works with. All trademarks, service marks and logos remain the property of their respective owners.
We do not use any platform's official logo artwork anywhere on this site. The symbols you see on our platform pages are plain text characters chosen to be recognisable without reproducing protected branding.
We do not host video content
This site stores no video files. When you use the tool, it reads the publicly available information a platform serves for a given link and presents the options back to you. The actual download transfers from the platform's infrastructure to your device. Because we never hold a copy, we cannot delete a video from anywhere, and we have no library of downloaded material.
Copyright
Every video you can reach through this tool belongs to whoever made it. Downloading a copy does not transfer ownership, licence, or any right to republish. Copyright protection applies automatically to original creative work in almost every country, without the creator needing to register anything or add a notice.
Reuploading someone else's video to your own account, using it in monetised content, or editing it into work you sell can all constitute infringement. The consequences are real: platforms issue strikes and remove accounts, and rights holders can pursue claims directly.
Fair use and personal copies
Many jurisdictions recognise limited exceptions to copyright, such as fair use in the United States or fair dealing in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. These exceptions can cover criticism, commentary, news reporting, teaching and research, and they are assessed case by case against factors including how much you used and whether your use competes with the original.
Saving a public clip to watch offline is the kind of private personal use that is widely tolerated. Building a channel out of other people's downloads is not, and calling it fair use does not make it so. If you are unsure whether your intended use is covered, get advice from a qualified lawyer in your own country. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
Your responsibility
You decide what to paste into the tool and what to do with the file afterwards, and that decision is yours alone. By using GrabVid you confirm that you have the right to download the content in question, and you accept full responsibility for complying with the copyright law that applies where you live, as well as with the terms of service of the platform the content came from.
Platform terms are worth reading. Some services explicitly restrict downloading outside their own offline features. Those terms are an agreement between you and that platform, not between you and us, and we cannot waive them on your behalf.
Accuracy and availability
We keep our guides current, but platforms change how they store and serve video without notice, and information that was accurate when written can go stale. We make no warranty that the tool will work for any particular link, or that the site will be available at any given moment.
Rights holders
If you believe this site is being used in a way that infringes your rights, contact us at contact@grabvid.org with the details. We take these messages seriously and respond quickly. Since we host no files, we will usually help you identify the right takedown route with the platform actually hosting the copy.
Read alongside our terms of service and privacy policy. If you are new to the tool, the how it works guide covers the practical side.
